This FPSO was experiencing a water ingress issue: the deck doors were not watertight, posing a risk to the electrical equipment located below.

Cold Pad designed a solution to address this type of problem. C-CLAW fasteners were bonded around the doors to secure an additional protective cover. To ensure watertightness, a seal was installed between the cover plate and the doors.

The entire system can be removed using manual trolleys and/or the FPSO’s crane, allowing access to the doors even in the harsh conditions of the North Sea.
